climberclimbing: Alex Puccio, one of the best US Women`s boulderers and ranked third in the 2011 World Cup standings, hails from Boulder, CO. Born June 15, 1989 she became a tremendous force in the climbing world after being introduced to it at 13.  She is pushing the difficulty limits of female bouldering with ascents of V12s on the bouldering scale. “I’d love to climb some V13’s, V14’s,” she says. She already has a heavily overhung problem scoped out near her home in Boulder, Colorado, that could rate a V13. “With men, they’re up to, like, V16,” she says. “Women can get to that level, too. It’s just that there aren’t that many trying. At least not yet.” To me, Alex Puccio is an inspiration to female climbers. She is strong and immensely passionate about climbing and she is truly fantastic!
